How to Price Roof Cleaning: The Beginners Contractor's Guide

For contractors entering the world of roof cleaning and exterior maintenance, setting the right prices is a critical skill and it can seem overwhelming but it doesn't have to be rocket science.


We break down roof cleaning pricing into 3 methods of cleaning the actual roof which has a base price.

Then the price is calculated based on the area size (meter square / foot square) or based on the property type being cleaned known in the industry as “house price minimum”.


In wet and cold UK and European markets, low pressure cleaning of a concrete or clay roof in many cases is safe and delivers the best cleaning results.

Priced based on How You Are Going to Clean the Roof?

Each cleaning method has pro and cons such as the time and level of equipment required to complete the job. 


As a rule of thumb a job that requires a higher level of equipment can demand a higher price which is one of the reasons steam cleaning a roof comes with a higher ticket compared with roof scraping

How much to charge for cleaning a roof?

The method of cleaning varies the price to charge.

Roof scraping - £8 - £10 per square meter

Roof pressure washing - £10 - £12 per square meter

Roof softwashing - £4.50 per square meter
