Pressure washing and down stream injectors, the perfect match.

I cant beleive how long I've missed out on this super hack!

It sounds dramatic but I has really cut down on cleaning times.

Pressure washing is a powerful and efficient cleaning method that is widely used in in the pressure washing industry by commercial and residential softwashing businesses.

But to get the best results, it is important to use the right equipment and technology, including the appropriate type of injector.

Injectors play a crucial role in delivering cleaning chemicals to the surface being cleaned, and understanding the different types of injectors is essential for achieving the best results.

In this article, we will focus on downstream injectors and explore their unique features, benefits, and uses in pressure washing.

Want to see how a down stream injector works?

I Learnt a thing or two about down stream injectors. I must be honest I didn't have a clue before I started but there's never a better way to find out that to actually have a go.

I find its best to just see it working and it all make a lot more sense.

Using a downstream injector is straightforward and easy once your actually used one. But if this is new for you its natural to have the question....

How to Use a Downstream Injector?

To use a downstream injector:

  1. Connect it to the pressure washer's water supply
  2. Adjust the settings to match the desired chemical-to-water ratio
  3. Start the pressure washer

It is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety guidelines when using a downstream injector, as improper use can result in injury or damage to the injector and other pressure washing equipment.

So below I have answered all the frequently asked questions around downstream injectors.

Frequently Asked Downstream Injector Questions

  • What is a Downstream Injector?

A downstream injector is a type of injector that delivers cleaning chemicals into the water stream after the water has been pressurized by the pump.

The term "downstream" refers to the position of the injector in the pressure washing system, as it is located downstream from the pump.

Downstream injectors are often preferred in softwashing businesses for their:

    • Simplicity and ease of use
    • Ability to accurately control the amount of chemical that is delivered
    • Speed in which solutions can be delivered to a surface.
    • Low cost to install
  • Downstream injectors for softwashing

A BIG advantage of downstream injectors is their ability to accurately control the amount of chemical that is delivered to the surface being cleaned.

This is achieved by adjusting the injector's settings to match the desired chemical-to-water ratio.

The exact amount of chemical that is delivered can varies depending on the specific model of injector.and also the length of high pressure hose fitted after the downstream injector.

Down injectors are typically measured in gallons per minute (GPM) or liters per minute (LPM) hear in the UK.

  • What Does a Downstream Injector Do?

A downstream injector delivers cleaning chemicals to the surface being cleaned by mixing them with the water stream after the water has been pressurized by the pump.

The precise amount of chemical that is delivered can be adjusted to match the desired chemical-to-water ratio, allowing for more effective cleaning.

Downstream injectors are also known for their ease of use, making them a popular choice for pressure washing businesses to apply their softwash solutions and degreasers.

  • Differences Between Upstream and Downstream

The main differences between upstream and downstream injectors include the way in which they deliver cleaning chemicals and the level of control that they offer over chemical delivery.

Upstream injectors are capable of handling thicker and more viscous chemicals, but they can be more complex and difficult to adjust.

Downstream injectors, on the other hand, are simple to use and offer more precise control of chemical delivery.

For our business and equipment, downsteam injecting is the only alternative we use for softwashing a lower strengh solutions.

For higher strength soltions we use a 12V softwash system

  • Make A Downstream Injector Work On A Long High Pressure Hose?

This simple answer to this question is. The longer the length of high pressure hose the small you down stream injecor orafice should be.
